    PM Modi addressed the outgoing Lok Sabha

    He mentioned the achievement of his government

    Elections are due in a few months

In his last address to the outgoing Lok Sabha, PM Modi stressed on a number of things. Here are the highlights of his speech: 

  1.  Elections are fast approaching. But the Opposition is worried. However, this anxiety is necessary for democracy. It will increase the country’s pride.

  2.  We have given an identity to transgender people. We have worked to improve their situation. 

  3.   In an endeavour to improve ease of living, The Company’s Act and other laws have been removed by our government.

  4. We have taken the decision to criminalise instant triple talaq, passage to women’s reservation bill.

  5.  We have abrogated Article 370 during this term. The framers of the Constitution will also be happy.

  6. PM Modi also thanked Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla: He said, “You were  always smiling. Your smile did not fade. You guided this House in a very balanced and impartial manner in several instances. I can’t help but appreciate you. There were moments of anger, allegations but you controlled the situation very well and ran the House and guided us.” 

  7.  17th Lok Sabha has 97 percent productivity, it was over 100 per cent in seven sessions.
