Predator drones can be an all-weather friend to its owners

They can attain speeds of 275 mph or 442 km/h

They can be air-borne for 35 long hours continuously

The United States has approved the sale of 31 of Predator Drones to India. The total estimated cost of these machines is USD 3.99 billion. 

So what makes these drones phenomenal? Here’s a look: 

1. They can be as close as 250 metres from the ground and can operate at an elevation of 50000 feet, which is more than the elevation aircraft achieve. 
2. They can be an all-weather friend to its owners. 
3. They can attain speeds of 275 mph or 442 km/h.
4. These drones can carry around 1,700 kg of payload. It can also include four missiles and around 450 kg of bombs, and travel 2,000 miles without refuelling.
5. They can be air-borne for 35 long hours continuously. 
6. They can carry air-to-ground missiles, apart from carrying air-to-air missiles. 
7.  They can be used for surveillance, intelligence gathering and airstrikes, which means they can be used for different purposes. 

Interestingly, this will boost the foreign policy and national security aims of the United States. But how? Well, it will make the Indo-US strategic relationship more robust. US sees India as a potent force for  political stability, peace, and economic progress in the Indo-Pacific and South Asia region.
