Ayodhya Ram Mandir gets a giant 400kg lock as gift

    The lock was made an Aligarh artisan Satya Prakash

    However, he passed away before it could be gifted

    It is 10 feet high, 4.6 feet wide, and 9.5 inches thick

A giant lock weighing 400kg, has been gifted to the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. It was manufactured by Satya Prakash, an artisan, hailing from Aligarh. 

Though created by him, he did not live to see his wishes of gifting it to the Ram Mandir getting fulfilled. However, his wife, Rukmani, is delighted as his last wish got materialized. 

The colossal lock, stands at 10 feet high, 4.6 feet wide, and 9.5 inches thick, with two keys weighing 15kg each. It  was built at a cost of almost Rs 2 lakh. A large crane positioned itself at Prakash’s residence to load the lock onto a truck bound for Ayodhya. Maheshchand, Prakash’s son, revealed that Hindu Mahasabha national secretary Annapurna Bharti, upon learning of the family’s situation. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be inaugurating the Ram Mandir on January 22, with over 8000 guests in attendance. These guests also include the 5-judge bench of the Supreme Court, which delivered the verdict in Hindus’ favour. 

The photos of the idol of Ram Lalla, which will be installed ritualistically (Pran Prathishtha), were circulated on Friday. It is 51 inches tall and was chiselled by Arun Yogi of Karnataka.
