Bangalore University is set to transform its library on the Jnana Bharathi Campus into a lush green haven, with plans to cultivate 28,000 trees across a sprawling 10-acre expanse.

The ambitious rejuvenation project encompasses innovative initiatives, such as the creation of a suspended library nestled within the branches of a banyan tree, the digitization of the library’s extensive book collection, and the establishment of dedicated music zones. Additionally, the makeover envisions the integration of modern amenities like free Wi-Fi, an open-air theatre, and other facilities aimed at enhancing the overall reading experience.

BR Radhakrishna, the Librarian at Bangalore University, reportedly shared his vision for this transformative endeavour, emphasizing the goal of fostering a stress-free reading environment for both students and staff.

The library currently boasts an impressive collection, housing over four lakh physical books and 65,000 E-Books. To further facilitate accessibility, the university has introduced the M Library application, a valuable resource designed to aid students in preparing for various competitive examinations.
