The Chief Commissioner of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Pallike (BBMP), Tushar Giri Nath, has affirmed a commitment to prioritize the development of roads in industrial areas and commercial hubs.

During an interaction with the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) in the city, Giri Nath addressed concerns raised by FKCCI President Chandra Lahoti, highlighting the substantial tax contributions made by industrial areas to the BBMP. Despite these financial contributions, Lahoti expressed dissatisfaction with the current level of development activities undertaken by the civic body.

Key demands presented by FKCCI included the enhancement of road infrastructure, resolution of inter-departmental coordination issues, removal of vendors obstructing footpaths in K.R. Market, and alleviation of traffic congestion near the J.P. Nagar metro station at Sarakki.

Responding to these concerns, Giri Nath outlined specific plans for road development in crucial areas, including Peenya Industrial Area, S.P. Road, Mamulpet, Tharagupet, Sultanpet, and other key locations within the Central Business District (CBD).

Furthermore, Giri Nath acknowledged FKCCI’s additional requests for effective waste management and the maintenance of streetlights.

This proactive approach by the BBMP aims to address the longstanding issues hindering the progress and sustainability of industrial and commercial zones in Bengaluru, signaling a commitment to infrastructure improvement and overall urban development.
