A shocking incident wherein 3 members of a family committed suicide by setting themselves on fire has surfaced from J.P Nagar 3rd Phase in Bengaluru. The deceased have been identified as 48-year-old Sukanaya, 28-year-old Nikhit and 28-year-old Nishchit. The incident unfolded at 6 A.M on 20th March. They were staying in J.P Nagar on a rental basis for 15 years. Sukanya’s husband Jayanand owned a factory.

The factory recently ran into losses and hence had to be closed. The family had incurred debts as a result of this. Sukanya conducted tuition classes for children. Jayanand’s health is said to have deteriorated ever since the factory was closed. He was bedridden. Nishchit was reportedly handicapped. He would earn money through the Work From Home (WFH) option.

Nikhit had also supposedly resigned from his job and stayed at home for the last 4-5 months. They were apparently visited by loan sharks on an occasional basis and were pressured to clear their dues. A similar visit took place on March 19th. The J.P Nagar Police visited the location wherein the tragedy took place upon having received information about it.
