    Man allegedly dies in police custody in Bengaluru

    He was arrested on charges of theft

A 32-year-old man named Ganesh has allegedly died a custodial death in Bengaluru. 

He was arrested on December 22 in a case related to theft by the cops of the HSR Layout Police Station. After grilling him for the alleged crime he did, he was sent to Parappana Agrahara. There, it is alleged that he was treated hostilely, 

He was even admitted to a hospital, but he passed away on December 30. 

The issue came to light when one of his friends Vinod revealed the matter to a social activist. NewsFirst Prime has gained access to an audio file in this regard. 

As we publish this article, we understand that three suspects had been picked up by the HSR Police on theft charges. Along with Ganesh, his alleged accomplices Vinod and Sunil too were picked up. 

As per Vinod, they were all abused inside the police station. But Vinod was let off after he allegedly paid money to the cops. 

Vinod also alleges that the police applied diesel and chilly powder to Ganesh’s private parts.
