Bengaluru: 15+ private schools receive bomb threats through email

Police Commissioner B Dayananda relayed information pertaining to bomb threats issued to more than 15 private schools across Bengaluru. He reassured the parents that they have no reason to feel anxious. 

B Dayanada arranged for a press meet regarding the issue upon having received emails issuing the threats. Bomb squads have been dispatched to the schools that have been mentioned in the email. An inspection is being carried out in schools by the police. As the due process is being followed, Dayananad dispelled any cause for worry for the parents. 

The Carmel school in Basaveshwara Nagar was one of the schools in the list. The school authorities reached out to parents to ensure they collect their children for the day. The viva exam for ISC students of class 12 were being held on the day. A parent of a class 12 student had stated that he still does not have clarity regarding whether or not the exam has been cancelled while talking to the press. The teachers were seen facilitating the process of ensuring the safe exit of students.

Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, DK Shivakumar spoke to the press and stated that a school close to his residence was also mentioned in the email. He suspected that it might be a false alarm and promised that the authorities would solve the cyber crime within a day’s time.
