Special court issues arrest warrant against JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna

He is currently absconding, in connection with a kidnapping case

SIT is now preparing to issue a red corner notice through CBI

A special court for elected representatives has issued an arrest warrant against JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna, who is currently absconding, in connection with the Holenarasipura kidnapping case.

The warrant was prompted by an application from the Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating serial sex abuse cases in Hassan district, allegedly involving Prajwal and his father, H D Revanna. H D Revanna, also a JD(S) MLA, is currently out on conditional bail related to the kidnapping case.

The SIT is now preparing to issue a red corner notice through the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which could lead to the cancellation of Prajwal’s passport.

In response to the developments, former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda stated on Saturday that legal action should proceed against his grandson Prajwal according to the law, regarding the sexual abuse allegations. However, he defended his son H D Revanna, claiming the cases against him were baseless.

“H D Kumaraswamy has frequently spoken on behalf of our entire family about Prajwal Revanna and H D Revanna. It is the government’s responsibility to take all necessary legal steps against Prajwal. But now the people also know that false cases were registered against H D Revanna,” Deve Gowda said.

The situation continues to evolve as the SIT intensifies its investigation into the allegations.
