Construction of entry structure near Lakkasandra metro station causes disruption

There is no diversion for traffic moving towards Dairy Circle from the Anepalya junction

The construction forms a part of the sixth phase of construction of the metro network

Officials of the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) have assessed that the construction of the south side entry structure near the Lakkasandra underground metro station might necessitate traffic diversions on the Bannerghatta Main Road, Lakkasandra and other nearby areas. “Traffic moving on Bannerghatta Road towards Anepalya junction will have to take a right turn at the MICO signal to reach the Adugodi signal via the BOSCH link road and then take a left. There is no diversion for the traffic moving towards Dairy Circle from the Anepalya junction. Traffic from Dairy Circle towards Shantinagar is to take a left at the 7th Main Road of Wilson Garden,” a BMRCL release stated.

This disruption could last for a period of 1 year. This region was already witness to dense concentration of traffic. This development might further worsen the situation.

The construction forms a part of the sixth phase of construction of the metro network. The 21.2 km stretch will consist of 18 stations. Of this 13.2 km would be underground. The line is, however likely to functional by 2025.
