Bengaluru: CM Siddaramaiah pays tribute to Dwarakish ahead of cremation

    Girija Lokesh, Kiccha Sudeep and Ramesh Aravind attended the event

The Chief Minister of Karnataka Siddaramaiah was at Ravindra Kalakshetra to pay tributes before the cremation of Sandalwood actor Dwarakish. Dwarakish, who apart from being an actor was also a director and a producer died owing to a heart attack on 16th April. “His contribution to the Kannada film industry has been immense. He was an exceptional actor. He won the hearts of the people with his impeccable comic timing, directorial vision and choice of films for production. I had travelled with him to Mysuru via a helicopter once. His stature in terms of contribution to the Kannada language is immeasurable. He also took multiple measures for social welfare. His death is a huge loss for the film industry. Coincidentally his wife also died on April 16th,” Siddaramiah said.

A public display of his body has been arranged in Ravinda Kalakshetra ahead of his cremation. Many celebrities from the Sandalwood film industry had gathered on this occasion. Girija Lokesh, Kiccha Sudeep, Ramesh Aravind, Ravichandran, Malavika Avinash and Hamsalekha were some of the celebrities spotted. They offered their condolences to the family members of Dwarakish. The final rites have been scheduled in Chamrajpete.
