Complaint lodged with DK Shivakumar

A social activist going by the name Bhagyavathi Amaresh has lodged a complaint with Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar over the renaming of two roads in Bengaluru after Karnataka Ratna Puneeth Rajkumar and cricketer Virat Kohli. 

The activist adds that a proposal in this regard was submitted to the BBMP officials last year, but till date, no development has taken place. 

These two roads appear in the Hombegowdanagar Ward of the Chikkapete Ward (145). 

Presently, these two roads are called BTS road (prayer to rename it after Puneeth Rajkumar) and 8th Main Road (prayer to rename it after Virat Kohli). 

The activist claims that there are several members from the public who have expressed keen interest in renaming these roads after the legends. In the complaint letter, it can also be noted that the activist reminds the minister that Puneeth’s 2nd death anniversary was held a few days ago and Virat Kohli’s birthday was also celebrated recently. 

Later, it is alleged that the BBMP authorities do not take up any work in the good interests of the society, but only those that rake in the moolah!
