The government is preparing to organize a two-day convention titled ‘Constitution & National Unity’ in Bengaluru, scheduled for February 24, to mark the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Indian Constitution.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced on Saturday (February 17) that the convention aims to address pressing issues affecting India, especially those impacting individuals in the lower echelons of society.

Eminent intellectuals and thinkers from across the country, such as Ashutosh Varshney, Medha Patkar, GN Devy, Jayanti Ghosh, Sukhdev Thorat, Prashant Bhushan, and Bezwada Wilson, are anticipated to participate in the convention. Additionally, a substantial rally is slated for February 25 as part of the commemorative activities, the CM disclosed. The state government commenced a ‘jatha’ on January 26 to raise awareness about the Constitution, which will culminate in Bengaluru on February 23.

“The convention and the jatha are crucial elements of our government’s pledge to meaningfully celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Constitution,” stated the CM.

These initiatives underscore the government’s commitment to fostering national unity and ensuring that the foundational principles of the Constitution resonate with all segments of society.

The event not only symbolizes reverence for the Constitution but also serves as a platform for dialogue and reflection on the challenges and aspirations of the nation.
