Bird lovers and environmentalists raise concern over move

You may be a person that loves to feed pigeons and birds in general, however note that what you think as an act of altruism might burn a hole in your pocket.

Race course is one of the most prominent locations in Namma Bengaluru, at the same time pigeons too flock here. People gather here as they get an opportunity to feed them, but a new rule put in place by the company that has won the bid to maintain the place has come up with a plan to impose a fine of rupees 200 for feeders.

Environmentalists question move

With this new rule in place, many bird lovers and environmentalists have raised concern over the move. They wonder as to who gave the company the rights to impose fines. At the same time, they fail to understand as to how a noble exercise like providing food to hungry birds can be construed as a crime.

High temperatures, parched throats

All thanks to the blistering heat in Bengaluru, coupled with acute water scarcity, it’s not just humans, even animals are ferreting for water. This being the case, water is indeed gold now.
