Dr. Rao allegedly poisoned large trees with chemical substance

Within 2 weeks, trees showed signs of deterioration and eventually died

Residents expressed indignation, calling for immediate legal action

A shocking incident has come to light involving Dr. Ashwath Ram Rao, a child specialist, who has been caught on CCTV footage poisoning trees that obstructed the view of his commercial building on Serpentine road, near the Kumarapark West BDA Office.

On May 1, Dr. Rao allegedly instructed workers to drill holes around the base of two large trees. He then applied a chemical substance that causes wood to dry out. Within two weeks, both trees showed signs of severe deterioration and eventually died.

The deliberate act, captured on CCTV and obtained by NewsFirst Prime, has sparked widespread outrage among local residents. Dr. Rao’s actions have been condemned as a blatant disregard for the regulations set by the BBMP and the forest department, aimed at protecting urban greenery.

Residents expressed their indignation, calling for immediate legal action against Dr. Rao. They have demanded that an FIR be registered and appropriate measures be taken to hold him accountable for the environmental damage caused by his actions.

The motive behind this environmental destruction appears to be the obstruction caused by the trees to the three-storied commercial building owned by Dr. Rao.

This incident highlights a disturbing trend of prioritizing commercial interests over environmental conservation, raising concerns about the enforcement of urban tree protection laws.
