However certain institutions are keen to preserve their mode of functioning and are hence resistant to this change. It is in this light that the new dress code in temples has to be seen.

Clothes influenced by Western culture will be restricted in temples across Bengaluru. A dress code for temples will be put into action starting from January 10th. A board was constituted in order to draft the code. The trustee board consisted of representation from temples, monasteries, religious organisations and priests. The board had earlier decided to implement the dress code starting from January 2024.

Entry into the temple and the opportunity to obtain a glimpse of the deity will be subject to the dress code being followed. Skirts, ripped jeans and shorts are banned as per the dress code.
