Bengaluru: ED interrogates B.Nagendra’s wife for 7 straight hours

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is conducting an interrogation of the Former Tribal Welfare Minister of Karnataka B. Nagendra in relation to the alleged Valmiki Development Corporation scam. The relatives and close friends of Nagendra are also being enquired in this regard. An extensive enquiry of B.Nagendra’s wife took place. 

Officials and others who aided the supposed illegal transfer of money have been arrested. The ED, which has uncovered the source of the money, proceeded to question B.Nagendra’s wife. B.Nagendra’s wife Manjula was taken into the ED’s custody from her house in the Dollar’s Colony in Bengaluru and brought to the ED office in Shantinagar. There is a suspicion of her name having been used for the alleged misappropriation. This information supposedly came to light during the ED’s enquiry of B.Nagendra’s close aides. Manjula is reported to have been interrogated continuously for a period of 7 hours.

The ED’s inquiry of Harish and Devendrappa who are believed to be close to B.Nagendra through light on how the money was transferred. Another close aide Nakkunti Nagaraj led the investigation to Andhra Pradesh-based Sathyanarayana Verma. Nagaraj also revealed that Benami accounts were supposedly created under the names of Nagendra’s wife and other relatives. 

Nagendra was taken to the Shangri La Hotel by the ED officials on the last day of his custody for a spot inspection.
