Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Manoj Kumar has said

He urged citizens to report violations via phone call to 1950 or vigil app

The Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Manoj Kumar, has reportedly warned of action against any party or individual using tanker water supply to sway voters in Karnataka.

The Election Commission, in light of the model code of conduct, will also monitor water tanker movement, particularly in Bengaluru, where prices have been regulated due to scarcity.

CEO Manoj Kumar emphasized that political parties offering water as a facility could breach regulations and urged citizens to report violations via a phone call to 1950 or vigil app.

Private water tanker charges, which soared amid the crisis, led the state government to take control of them in Bengaluru.

Over 400 panchayats in 98 taluks suffer water scarcity, with 204 water tankers serving 175 villages.

Elections for 28 Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka will take place in two phases: April 26 and May 7. The first phase includes 14 seats, covering South Karnataka and coastal regions, while the second phase covers the remaining 14 seats.
