A mother and her daughter were rescued by fireforce personnel after they attempted suicide at their house in Whitefield by deliberately leaking gas. On knowing the incident, their neighbours rushed to pacify them, but of no avail. Immediately, they informed the people concerned, who rushed to the spot.

It is said the mother was upset over a family dispute, which forced her to take the extreme decision. The husband was away at work when this incident unfolded. The personnel broke open the door and rescued the two in question.
