The forthcoming Bengaluru Drum Fest, a celebration dedicated to the mastery of drums and curated by the renowned Bengaluru-based drummer, Arun Kumar, is set to captivate audiences from February 9 at Chowdiah Memorial Hall.

Dubbed as “Folk Mahal,” this festival promises a harmonious blend of folk and western rhythms, artfully intertwining the cultural essence of Karnataka folk music with the dynamic beats of western drums.

The festival serves as a homage to the late Sukumar Babu, a trailblazer in the drumming community of Karnataka and the founder of Babu School of Rhythms in Bengaluru South’s Tyagaraj Nagar. Sukumar’s profound influence is felt through the fest’s dedication to showcasing the seamless fusion of traditions and innovations in the rhythmic journey.

Featuring a stellar lineup of maestros including Arun Kumar, Ranjit Barot, Sambit Chatterjee, Lydian, and Shravan Samsi, this year’s event promises a mesmerizing journey through captivating drum solos.

The festival’s crescendo will be an exhilarating drum face-off, generously sponsored by Jain University and Livetree Entertainment, and powered by Babu School of Rhythms.
