In a shocking incident, a gym trainer died by suicide while he was on a video call with his wife. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Bagalagunte Police Station in Bengaluru. The deceased individual has been identified as 28-year-old Amit Kumar. Amit Kumar hails from Bihar. Amit arrived in Bengaluru 10 years back in search of a job. He fell in love with a woman near his gym 1 year back. The 2 of them subsequently got married. This was despite objections from their parents. 

Amit felt that his wife had begun to neglect him after having joined a nursing course. She is believed to have not received some of his phone calls on the pretext of being with friends. This supposedly led to frequent arguments between the two of them. Due to the escalation of the conflict, the wife vacated the residence and stayed elsewhere. Amit made repeated requests for her to return home.

On 15th May, Amit threatened to hang himself from a fan if his wife did not return while on a video call. It is reported that the phone fell from his hand during the call. He attempted to retrieve it. His leg slipped and he inadvertently ended up hanging himself to death.
