Government officials served notice in relation to videos

The former Public Works Department (PWD) Minister and father of Prajwal Revanna, HD Revanna was arrested by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on May 4th in relation to 2 First Information Reports (FIRs) filed against him over allegations of sexual assault and kidnapping. 

Reports indicate that HD Revanna was rather silent during the course of his interrogation by the officials of the SIT. He apparently broke down to tears. He had recalled that the family has bravely tackled many hardships over the last 50 years including an enquiry by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the Lokayukta. He asserted that he would legally fight the charges levelled against him. He is the first person from the family of the former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda to have been arrested. 

Meanwhile, an ex-police official, an ex- official of the forest department, a Bengaluru-based Assistant Executive Engineer and others have received a notice by the SIT under the provision of section 41-A over the suspicion that they have been featured in the videos. They have been asked to respond to the notice.
