Bengaluru: High Court dismisses Kerala CM’s daughter’s petition demanding stay on SFIO investigation

The Information Technology (IT) company run by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s daughter Veena Vijayan named Exalogic Solutions has been accused of fraud. The Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) will conduct an investigation with regard to this allegation. The petition to the Karnataka High Court to put a stay on the investigation has been dismissed. The company was asked to furnish relevant documents to the SFIO. The court however directed the SFIO to not take any coercive step against the applicant. 

The complete order will be available publicly on 17th February. Veena Vijayan is the Director of Exalogic Solutions. The company is located in the HSR Layout region of Bengaluru. The company provided software services to many establishments across Kerala. Transfers extending into crores of money were made on account of providing these services. The allegation is pertaining to tax fraud committed over this money. The Central Government had given a deadline of January 31st for the investigation to be conducted under relevant sections of the Company Act. Veena Vijayan argued that there was plausible reason for the investigation to be conducted that there was a violation of section 14 and section 21 of the constitution.
