Chetan demanded Rs 6 lakh: Karthik

Agreement states that money is non refundable: Karthik

    Chetan blackmailed me: Karthik

Founder of Idly Guru Karthik Shetty has refuted allegations of having scammed people by promising people of having a franchise registered under their name. He even addressed rumours of having fled Bengaluru. “I have been in Mumbai for around 20 days. I don’t have to run away. Chetan has made false allegations on me. His complaint is bogus. It is true that a franchise was purchased by him for Rs 3 lakh. He identified an outlet. I advised him against it as it was not ideal for business. I even offered to return his money. We launched the cart but the business did not pick up. He then suggested other locations. I obliged and tried 7 other locations. Despite that he has alleged that we have been supportive. Finally he requested for a refund as his mother was unwell and I was fine with that. This is despite the fact that the agreement states that it is non refundable as it was non-refundable. He demanded Rs 6 lakh. That was unacceptable. He sent a legal notice thereafter,” Karthik stated.

Karthik intends to file a defamation suit against Chetan. “I have all the necessary proof on WhatsApp. Chetan blackmailed me when I did not agree with his demand for 6 lakh. We are replying to the legal notice. No one can harass our brand,” Karthik mentioned.
