As the New Year festivities approach in Bangalore, the Police Department is gearing up to ensure a safe and secure celebration for the city’s residents and visitors. City Commissioner Dayanand has disclosed a series of precautionary measures to preempt any untoward incidents during the revelry.

 

  1. Bandobast and Picketing Points: The police department is set to establish bandobast and picketing points in densely populated areas to maintain order and prevent any potential disturbances. 
  2. Allocation of Security Points: Special attention will be given to star hotels, pubs, and clubs, with allocated security points to oversee these entertainment venues and ensure the safety of patrons. 
  3. Brigade and MG Road Deployment: A significant deployment of 3,000 policemen is planned for Brigade and MG Road, key areas where large crowds are expected to gather to celebrate the New Year. 
  4. Safe Team Islands: To prioritize women’s safety, the police will construct Safe Team Islands, providing a secure environment for women during the celebrations. 
  5. Police Kiosks for Missing Children: Police kiosks will be set up to assist in cases of missing children, offering information and support to reunite families. 
  6. Surveillance Through Watch Towers and Binoculars: Strategic surveillance will be conducted using watch towers and binoculars in areas deemed suitable for heightened observation. 
  7. Enhanced Deployment in Indira Nagar and Koramangala: In anticipation of increased activity, a substantial number of police personnel will be deployed in areas such as Indira Nagar and Koramangala to reinforce security measures.
