    KSCA receives guidelines from State Government

The 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will commence in a few days. The first match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will take place on March 22nd. Amidst this, bitter news awaits RCB fans. 

Bengaluru is currently faced with a water crisis. People have become dependent on water tankers. There are discussions of shifting all matches scheduled in Bengaluru. 

A trend has started on social media in this regard. The hashtag #CancelIPL is being used for this purpose. A huge amount of water is required to conduct these matches. 

The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has however stated that the matches will be taking place in Bengaluru. They stated that the 10,000- 15,000 litres of water required for the game will be generated in Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs). They reaffirmed that groundwater will not be used for this purpose. They also confirmed that they received guidelines from the state government for the conduction of IPL.
