Bengaluru: Lokayukta conducts raids across several locations over disproportionate assets cases

    A PWD EE in Mandya was under Lokayukta's radar

Lokayukta raids over disproportionate assets cases have occurred in several parts of Karnataka including Bengaluru. Mangaluru, Mandya and Chikkamagaluru were the other spots of the raids. 

A Mangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (MESCOM) engineer named Shantakumar deployed in the Attavar  was a suspect in Mangaluru. His house and office were examined. His residence in Bengaluru was also subject to raid. He has been functioning in Mangaluru for the last 5-6 years. 

An Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) in the Mangaluru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) was also a person of interest for the Lokayukta. A search was conducted in his apartments in JP Nagar and Vijaynagar. His brother’s house in K.R Nagar was also under scrutiny. Lokayukta Superintendent of Police (SP) Suresh Babu took the lead of the investigation. 

A Food inspector in Hassan, Health Inspector Jagganath and a Commercial Officer in Chikmagalur also had to face the heat from Lokayukta. The raids pertaining to the Commercial Officer were led by Lokayukta Inspector Anil Rathod. 

An Executive Engineer (EE) of the Public Works Department (PWD) in Mandya was also under Lokayukta’s radar. One of his residences in the Vidyaranyapura region of Bengaluru was also scrutinised. The Mandya Lokayukta SP Sajith handled this case.
