Bengaluru: Man behind fake bomb threat arrested

Even before the Bengaluru city recouped from the false alarm of bomb threats that affected dozens of schools, another such instance has come to light. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) police had got a call at 11:30 in the night regarding a bomb in Raj Bhavan which was set to explode in a few minutes. 

The NIA officials informed the police officials of this threat. The police officials along with a bomb squad and a dog squad entered the Raj Bhavan to assess the threat. It was ascertained that the threat was not based on reality. 

 The NIA officials forwarded the number through which the call was made. Upon tracing, the call was traced to the Upparpet Police Station. The Vidhana Soudha police station officials have apprehended a man named Bhaskar in relation to this incident. During the interrogation, Bhaskar revealed that he had no ulterior motives and made the call as a prank. Bhaskar hails from the  Mulbagal town of the Kolar district in Karnataka. He is a B.Com graduate who was into farming for a living. He had come to visit Bengaluru for a few days and made the call on his way back. 

A google search for the NIA official’s contact number and information from a sim dealer who provided a new sim for Bhaskar which he obtained just for making the call proved to be the decisive factors behind his arrest.He was arrested from Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh.
