8 stitches were required to attend to the wound

A man stabbed his wife as he was upset that she did not attend his sister’s engagement. The victim has been identified as 26-year-old Divyashree. The suspect has been identified as 32-year-old Jayaprakash. The incident is believed to have taken place at 9 o’clock on February 15th. 

Jayaprakash and Divyashree got married in 2019 after falling in love with each other. They had gotten married against the will of their parents. In light of Jayprakash’s bad health, Divyashree would take care of the expenses incurred by their household. They earlier resided in a house in Moodalapalya region of Bengaluru. They would have regular fights as Jayapraksh suspected of her having illicit affairs. He would get suspicious when she would talk on the phone with others. They later shifted to Sunkadakatte. The fights continued in the new house as well. 

On this occasion when the fight ensued over Divyashree not attending Jayaprakash’s sister’s engagement, Jayaprakash picked up the knife. The knife fell onto Divyashree’s feet. 8 stitches were required to attend to the wound. An FIR was registered in the Kamakshipalya police station. Jayaprakash is currently behind bars.
