The Mantri mall remains closed on December 28th. The mall wears a deserted look even as shopping enthusiasts stand outside, unable to digest what has happened.

Despite availing the services of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) the mall has failed to pay their due tax. This is despite the fact that their profits extend to crores in cash.
A property tax of Rs 51 crore is the pending amount to be paid by the Mantri Mall. They have not paid a payment with regard to this ever since 2018. The administrative board of the Mantri Mall received several extensions of the deadline for this task.
They are currently at loggerheads with the BBMP. They were forced to close the mall for some days last year as well as a result of their conflict with the BBMP. The mall was closed on the evening of 27th December.
The Mantri Mall located on the Sampige Road in Malleshwaram has become a prime spot for shopaholics in the last 13 years. The Metro connectivity to Malleshwaram increased the fanfare for the mall located nearby the metro station.
