In light of the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha that has been scheduled on 22nd January, the Jaya Karnataka Rakshana Sene planned to organise a pooja (prayer) with a photo of Lord Rama. This was scheduled in the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) park in the Girinagar region of Bengaluru. Overight, the flag pole and the stage were damaged by miscreants. A complaint was filed by the President of the Jaya Karnataka Rakshana Sene Rajappa. The complaint was filed in the Byatarayanapura Police Station. He requested the police to arrest the miscreants. He has alleged that Congress leader Arjun carried out the attack. He has claimed that Arjun had harassed him in a similar fashion in the past as well.
Rajappa had an interaction with the media wherein he threw light on the circumstances leading to such a turn of events. “We had placed an order for puliyogare (tamarind rice) and kesari bath (semolina porridge) for 500 people. We had also been granted permission by the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP). Arjun’s associates had even tried to create obstacles to the celebration. The police did not warn them. The police filed a petition at 1:30 AM. Overnight the pole has vanished. They must be arrested and expelled. The police have promised to look into the situation. We will hold peaceful demonstrations until the miscreants are arrested,” he said.
