Bengaluru: Mystery blast at Rameshwaram Cafe leaves 5 injured

    At 1:09 PM, the police supposedly received a call from the staff

    Possibility of cylinder blast has been ruled out

A mysterious explosion occurred at the Rameshwaram Cafe in Indiranagar. 5 people have been grievously injured as a result of this. 2 of them were customers. 3 of them were staff working at the cafe. The aftermath of the blast has been disastrous for the Rameshwaram Cafe. Initial reports suggest that an unidentified person carried the explosive device in his bag. The cafe is located within the ambit of the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) Police Station. Officials of the Fire Department arrive at the spot. 


Speculations of a cylinder blast were also making rounds. Possibility of a short circuit was also considered. This was based on initial assumptions of the staff. However, they have now been ruled out with a certain degree of authority. At 1:09 PM, the police supposedly received a call from staff working on the premise of the blast. The police have recovered CCTV footage from in and around the cafe. Whitefield Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Shivakumar is leading the investigation efforts at the moment. The area has been sealed. Bengaluru Police Comissioner B. Dayananda is rushing to the spot. 

Officials from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) have also arrived at the spot to assess the precise nature of the explosive device used for the blast. They are collecting samples from the location. 

One of the 5 injured persons has been admitted to the Manipal Hospital. 3 of them have been shifted to the nearby hospital.
