Facilities are aimed to enhance the experience of the tourists and trekkers

Camps can witness an occupancy of 50 at any given point

A toy train service would also be available

The Bengaluru division of the South Western Railways is planning to initiate a camping and toy train service at the Nandi Hills Railway Station. This would be the first time such a service is provided in India. Other facilities include a museum, a rail-coach functioning as a restaurant, a mini waterfall area, a historical interpretation centre, a courtyard, a sunset deck, cycling renting points and an amphitheatre.

These facilities are aimed to enhance the experience of the tourists and trekkers who visit the picturesque location. The creation of these units is yet to begin. Invitations are being extended to private firms for this project. It is envisioned that these camps can witness an occupancy of 50 at any given point in time.

The project would be extended throughout an area spanning 15 acres. A two-phase plan has been developed for this. Currently the restoration work and work pertaining to the construction of a museum are underway. These are estimated to be completed by June 2024 or July 2024. The project on the whole is expected to be completed before 2026. The process for issuing tenders would begin shortly. The nitty-gritties of the transport arrangement for customers from the station to the hilltop are being worked out.
