Fast-track system for new cancer patient registration in KIdwai

Cancer patients can complete registration process within a single day

Online registrations through software systems like NIC, ABARK, and e-Redcare

The Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology (KMIO) in Bengaluru, known for its commitment to providing cancer treatment to the underprivileged, has recently implemented an innovative fast-track system for new patient registration in its outpatient department (OPD).

This cutting-edge approach integrates a computerized cancer staging system, aiming to simplify and expedite the registration process for new patients seeking cancer treatment.

The pioneering concept introduced by KMIO is geared towards significantly reducing waiting times for cancer patients, enhancing their overall experience. Unlike the traditional process, which takes around 3 to 4 weeks for the entire work-up of a cancer patient, KMIO has revolutionized the approach, completing the process within a single day.

Under the new system, any new cancer patient visiting KMIO, where an average of 90-100 patients are seen daily, will be directed to a reclining chair. All necessary work-up procedures will be carried out on the spot, eliminating the need for patients to navigate through the hospital. The registration team will approach patients, registering them online at their bedside using software systems like NIC, ABARK, and e-Redcare.

Following this, KMIO staff will prepare the patient’s file, and all billing processes will be efficiently completed on-site. This streamlined approach aims to provide a more convenient and expeditious experience for cancer patients at KMIO.
