Mahadevapura to get additional 100 million litres of Cauvery Water

Cauvery water supply to 110 villages is anticipated to commence in May 2024

In Mahadevapura, as part of the Cauvery Stage V project initiated by the Bangalore Water Supply Sewerage Board (BWSSB) in Thubarahalli village, a significant milestone has been achieved. Specifically, more than 24 kilometres of the pipeline, out of the total 27 kilometres planned, has been successfully laid in the Mahadevapura zone.

The commencement of pipeline work, covering a span of 1.14 kilometers, has taken place on Vibgyor School Road, Thubarahalli. Despite the project team implementing necessary precautions, it is expected that this undertaking will result in considerable inconvenience for nearby residents, and the anticipation of traffic congestion is high.

The implementation of the BWSSB Cauvery Stage V Project is poised to bring an additional 100 million litres of Cauvery Water to Mahadevapura, supplementing the current 40 million litres.

The water supply to 110 villages is anticipated to commence in May 2024, marking the culmination of several years of project efforts.

Residents in areas such as Mahadevapura, Bommanhalli, Dasarahalli, and Byatarayanapura have been eagerly awaiting the project’s completion. Among the 110 villages, 31 are situated in Mahadevapura, and this Stage V Project will provide water access to these villages.

Presently, 11 out of these 31 villages receive water only once a week with minimal coverage. The entire project is slated for completion by May 2024, according to BWSSB officials.

There is optimism that the project works in the Mahadevapura zone may be finished ahead of the set deadline, with a commitment to promptly asphalt the remaining roads that are dug for the project.
