Bengaluru: On pretext of getting sites, plot seekers cheated to the tune of crores

    Unscrupulous elements take plot seekers for a ride

    They collected high sums of money from them

    Later, they did not give them plots

On the pretext of getting free sites for poor brahmins, unscrupulous elements have cheated these gullible people. 

The accused set into motion a few certificates under the name ‘Free sites for poor Brahmins’ to lure the victims into the trap.

Once the unsuspecting brahmins fell for it, they were forced to loosen their purse strings and cough up thousands of rupees. 

The accused promised lucrative lands at villages near Devanahalli and asked them to pay the amount in phases. Once the victims understood they were taken for a ride and approached the accused, it is reported that they abused them with filthy words and even intimidated them. Furthermore, it is also alleged that with the ill-begotten money, the accused have started their own real estate business.

A  few members of the aggrieved party have now lodged a complaint with the police and forwarded it to the police commissioner and CM Siddaramaiah too. 

They have urged them to try the accused under relevant laws and help them get their money back.
