Peenya Elevated Highway closure mandated by Bengaluru Traffic Police

Closure is due to load testing activities planned by NHAI

Closure in effect from 11 pm on January 16 to 11 am on January 19

The Peenya Elevated Highway in Bengaluru is set to be closed for all types of vehicles from January 16 to January 19, as mandated by the Bengaluru Traffic Police (BTP).

This closure is due to load testing activities planned by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for the Bengaluru-Nelamangala viaduct, specifically the elevated structure known as Dr. Shivakumar Swamiji Flyover on National Highway 4.

In light of the necessary repairs and retrofitting measures mandated by NHAI, the load testing aims to verify the structural integrity of the elevated portion. According to an official release, the prohibition will be in effect from 11 pm on January 16 to 11 am on January 19.

For commuters traveling from Nelamangala to Bengaluru city via the flyover, it is recommended to use the adjacent NH4 road or service road to 8th mile. The alternative route passes through Dasarahalli, Jalahalli Cross, Peenya Police Station Junction, and SRS Junction to reach Goraguntepalya.

Those moving from CMTI Junction towards Nelamangala with the destination set for Parle-G toll are advised to take the adjacent NH4 service road. Traffic management will facilitate the movement along the service road from SRS Junction through Peenya Police Station Junction and Jalahalli Cross 8th mile.
