In a significant development, Bengaluru Police have apprehended BJP leader Govindaraju and panchayat bill collector Satish in connection with an alleged contract killing plot targeting RTI activist Nagaraj.

The incident, centered around the Kumbalagudu Panchayat in the outskirts of Bengaluru, is suspected to be a case of contract killing.

Nagaraj had sought information through an RTI application concerning irregularities within the panchayat. It’s reported that threats were made against him, indicating that disclosing such information would endanger his life.

The plan allegedly involved the procurement of a hitman, identified as local rowdy sheeter Krishna, to eliminate Nagaraj. A previous attempt on Nagaraj’s life took place last month while he was en route to Kengeri. However, he managed to escape the assailants’ assault and subsequently filed a complaint of attempted murder with the Kengeri police.

Following thorough investigation, authorities have arrested several individuals implicated in the plot, including BJP leader Govindaraju, panchayat bill collector Satish, rowdy sheeter Krishna, along with accomplices Shashikumar and Manish. They are now facing legal proceedings related to the attempted murder of Nagaraj.
