Bengaluru: Police conduct marathon for drug and cyber crime free Karnataka

    Marathon was conducted in asociation with SBI

    Close to 10,000 citizens participated in the marathon

    We have designated one station in every district for the prevention of cyber crime: Parameshwar

In association with the State Bank of India (SBI), the Karnataka Police is conducting a marathon on the occasion of its 50 year anniversary. The motto for the marathon is to make Karnataka free of drugs and crime. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Home Minister G Parameshwar will inaugurate the marathon. The marathon will commence from the front portion of the Vidhana Soudha. 

Director General and Inspector General of Police (DGICP) Alok Mohan, senior Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer Athik, Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru B Dayananda and the Managing Director of CBI Vinay Tonse will participate in this marathon. The overall attendance for this event is expected to be close to 10,000. “This is the first time we are organising such a marathon. We aim to spread awareness among youngsters to achieve our target of drug-free and cyber crime-free Karnataka. Alok Mohan has taken the responsibility to conduct this event. Whoever follows as the DGICP must take this forward in the coming year. We have designated one station in every district for the prevention of cyber crime. Cyber crimes can be registered by Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCP) and then later transferred to the cyber crime station. We are conducting a training program sponsored by Infosys that will aid in the prevention of cyber crimes,” G Parameshwar said.
