Bengaluru: Police file 500-page chargesheet in K.S Prathima murder case

    Kiran stole Rs 5 lakh in cash and jewellery items worn by Prathima

The heinous murder of a senior scientist in the Department of Mines of Geology of Karnataka, K.S Prathima in her house in Subramanyapura had shocked the entire state.The Thalaghattapura Police Station that had taken up the investigation have now brought an end to their investigation within 2 months. 

They have filed a chargesheet and will present a report to the court very shortly. As per information revealed by sources to NewsFirst, the chargesheet is 500 pages long. It is split into 60 sections and consists of eyewitness testimony from more than 10 people. 

The chargesheet has found that Kiran carried out the murder as he was upset at having lost his job. He then stole Rs 5 lakh in cash and jewellery items worn by Prathima. He handed the money to his friend Shivu and proceeded to the Male Mahadeshwara Hills. Shivu and co-workers of Kiran are being presented as eye-witnesses. 

They have also compiled technical evidence to support their case. Kiran had lied to his wife about having a government job. After learning about the truth when he lost his job, his wife left his house. Kiran had made a plan that he would request to get his job back and if that would not work he would kill Prathima and steal money. This was unravelled during the investigation. 

Prathima did not have any professional rivalry. Tower location was used to apprehend Kiran.
