Bengaluru’s top cop, B. Dayananda, addressed the media on the city’s preparations for the upcoming New Year celebrations, emphasizing the police’s commitment to maintaining law and order. He assured the public that the force has implemented comprehensive measures to prevent any untoward incidents and illegal activities during the festivities.

“We have launched several drives to unearth illegal activities, including searching lodges, restaurants, and bars. Our focus is also on monitoring drug sales,” Dayananda stated. He revealed that the police had already summoned and interrogated 380 suspects, even conducting house searches.
The police have intensified their vigilance by inspecting over 1,630 bars and restaurants across the city to ensure safety and compliance. Rowdy elements have also been interrogated as part of these preventive efforts. Additionally, the police have identified foreign nationals overstaying in the city, taking strict action against them.
With these proactive measures, Bengaluru’s police force aims to ensure a safe and secure environment for citizens and visitors, effectively curbing criminal activity and maintaining peace as the city ushers in the New Year. Dayananda urged the public to cooperate with law enforcement and report any suspicious activity during the celebrations.
