Bengaluru Police all set to provide tight security

Police personnel given strict instructions on guarding city

    Strict action against wrongdoers

As the New Year approaches, the Bengaluru Police department is gearing up to ensure a safe and peaceful celebration. Senior officers have issued specific instructions to police personnel to maintain order during the festivities.

Officers are directed to utilize department-provided bikes for mobile patrolling. Each Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) is responsible for sector-wise administration. Special attention should be given to monitor the movements of groups opposing New Year celebrations. Baggage screening at shopping malls and the implementation of metal detection devices is emphasized.

CCTV surveillance in malls is crucial, and officers are tasked with providing appropriate guidance. On December 31, designated inspectors will oversee security at their respective stations. Personnel appointed for security duty must not leave their posts without orders.

All officers involved in security must be equipped with a helmet, lathi, and service revolver. Additionally, officers are required to have a jersey raincoat. Public cooperation is urged, particularly in crowded areas like MG Road and Brigade Road. Immediate action is instructed against those who molest or create disturbances.

The police will be vigilant against potential disruptions by anti-social forces, given recent terrorist activities. Hoysala and Cheetah vehicles will be patrolling actively, and officers are coordinating with other departments to ensure uninterrupted electric lights and prevent power cuts during the celebrations. This comprehensive plan aims to uphold safety and order during the New Year festivities.
