Bengaluru: Prediction of rain within a week brings relief amidst intense heat

The extreme temperatures in Bengaluru have exhausted people. Amidst the intense heat, the Meteorological Centre has given a positive update for the people. Prediction of heavy rainfall in Bengaluru in the coming days has been made. 

Bengaluru which always made news for the amount of rainfalls has recently broken records with regard to heat. Provided that this prediction proves to be right, the people of Bengaluru would be getting a major relief in the summer season.

The prediction indicates that Bengaluru might receive rain within the next one week. This has filled the people of Bengaluru with a sense of anticipation. Apart from Bengaluru, rain is also expected to hit Belagavi, Gadag, Davanagere, Dharwad and Haveri. The prediction also indicates that the amount of rainfall in the month of May will exceed that amount of rainfall in the month of April. 

In April 2024, the average temperature was 36.64 degree celsius. This marks the worst ever summer in the last 8 years. There were 17 days in April wherein the temperature went above 37 degree celsius. In contrast, only 11 days in April 2016 witnessed such a surge. April 2024 was also the driest summer in Bengaluru in 41 years.
