Bengaluru can expect light rain from Wednesday through Sunday

Bengaluru, often dubbed India’s Silicon Valley, is grappling with both scorching temperatures and a persistent water crisis. In recent weeks, residents have endured relentless sun, a departure from the city’s typically pleasant climate.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has provided a glimmer of hope in their latest weekly forecast, suggesting relief from the harsh sunlight for Bengaluru. Already, some regions in South Peninsular India, notably Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, have experienced showers over the weekends.

Here’s what the Bengaluru weather forecast looks like for this week:

Weekdays are anticipated to be cloudy, with rain predicted for the weekend. Light showers have been forecasted for North Interior Karnataka on Sunday, with Bengaluru and the wider South Interior Karnataka set to experience wet weather starting Wednesday, March 20th.

According to the IMD, districts such as Chamarajanagar, Chikkamagaluru, Dakshina Kannada, Hassan, Kodagu, Mandya, Mysuru, Tumkur, and Bengaluru can expect light rain from Wednesday through Sunday, spanning March 20th to 23rd.

Reports hint at a potential increase in rainfall towards the end of March and the beginning of April.

There’s even speculation that the upcoming Ugadi celebrations might be accompanied by rain, offering much-needed respite to Bengaluru residents.
