24-year-old man reportedly commits another heinous crime

He allegedly kidnapped and sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl

He was produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody

Freed from imprisonment following a three-year sentence in a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, a 24-year-old man from Bengaluru reportedly committed another heinous crime.

Soon after his release, the individual, identified as Anand, who worked as a cleaner on a private bus, allegedly kidnapped and sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl who regularly used the same bus for commuting to school. The Dabaspet police promptly arrested him.

Anand had previously faced charges and was arrested by the Byadarahalli police in 2021 in connection with a POCSO case. Subsequently, he was convicted and served a three-year prison sentence.

Upon his recent release, he formed a connection with the underage victim, who was a passenger on the bus where he was employed. On December 30, the girl left her home, informing her parents that she was headed to school. Concerned when she did not return, her parents filed a missing person report.

Following the complaint, authorities located and rescued the girl from a construction site in Doddaballapura. Anand was promptly re-arrested.

Further investigations unveiled a disturbing sequence of events. On December 30, Anand took the victim to a temple, where he performed a symbolic ritual by tying a mangalasutra (sacred thread).

Subsequently, he took her to a room at a construction site where his sister and brother-in-law were employed as daily wage workers. Tragically, the victim endured five days of sexual abuse before her rescue.

Notably, Anand also had previous theft-related charges against him. Following his arrest, he was presented before the court, which remanded him to judicial custody.
