The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has given a shock to the Rockline Mall over lapse in payment of property tax. The entrance of the mall located in Dasarahalli has been sealed by officials of the Revenue Department. They arrived at the mall along with police officials and marshalls.

Reports suggest that the pending amount extends to crores of rupees which have been accumulated over a period of many years. Starting from 2011 and up to 2022-2023, a total amount of Rs 11.51 crore in the form of tax remains unpaid by the Rockline Mall. A Demand Notice was issued to the mall with regard to this issue. The mall however did not fulfil their obligation despite the notice.

Under the lead of senior officials, the mall was closed. Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer Preeti Gehlot, BBMP Joint Commissioner Balashekar, other officials of the Dasarahalli Zone and officials from the Revenue Department visited the spot while it was being sealed.
