5 staff members, 4 officials and one woman police official would be in place in camps

High Tech drones would be used for the surveillance

The DCP has created contracts with security agencies

Preparations for the new year are underway in Brigade Road, MG Road and other parts of the city. Security arrangements become crucial during this phase. To ensure the safety of women the Bengaluru police have devised a special strategy.

This plan consists of 3 components.

The first component is the “Umbrella Plan”. Umbrella Camps will be in place every 100 metres along MG Road and Brigade Road. This would have a police sticker. 5 staff members, 4 officials and one woman police official would be in place in these camps. This will instil confidence in people and fear among perpetrators of crimes.

The second component is the usage of drone cameras. High Tech drones would be used for the surveillance of MG Road and Brigade Road. These will provide a broad coverage for the police which will aid them in ensuring no untoward incident unfolds.

The third component of the plan involves the marking of pickup spots. This is to have a broad view of the proceedings. A special taskforce has been formed for these pickup spots. A police official has been designated as an incharge of these pickup spots. Bodyguards in pubs and restaurants will also aid in the security. They would ensure safety on the footpaths located in front of the pubs and restaurants.

The DCP has created contracts with security agencies to rope in people on a voluntary basis for the security arrangements. To ensure that fights do not break out would be a top priority.
