The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has issued a grave warning following the viral circulation of an obscene videos in Hassan.

In an official press release, the SIT underscored the criminality of disseminating such content through social media platforms, particularly emphasizing the usage of WhatsApp Messenger in this instance.

Citing relevant legal statutes such as the IT Act 67(a), IPC 2282(1), and 292, the SIT emphasized the severity of the offenses committed, with penalties prescribed for those found guilty. The SIT condemned the actions as a direct affront to the dignity and privacy of the women depicted in the video, vowing to pursue strict enforcement measures. Emphasizing the gravity of the situation, the SIT urged the public not to engage in any activities that might further expose the identities of the victims.

Furthermore, a stern warning was issued to media organizations, individuals, and associations against any attempts to reveal the victims’ identities. The SIT made it clear that legal action would be pursued if necessary to safeguard the privacy and rights of the individuals involved.

The head of the Special Investigation Team, CID, affirmed that the matter would be treated with the utmost seriousness, signaling a proactive stance in addressing such incidents and ensuring justice for the victims.
