Bengaluru: Sixteen to eighteen foetuses recovered in SPG Hospital

The unravelling of a female foeticide racket has shocked the city of Bengaluru. Instances have also been noted in the regions of Mandya and Mysuru. The officials have become alert in this regard and one of the hospitals has been temporarily sealed. 

The case is becoming more intriguing by the day. This has made health officials in Bengaluru take tough steps. 

For the first time in the state, a case has been filed on account of identification of embryos. The first case pertaining to foeticide was registered in the Tirumala Shetty police station in the Hoskote city of Bengaluru. 16-18 foetuses were found in the SPG Hospital in the Channasandra Main Road in Bengaluru. The officials have sealed the hospital. 

The owner of the hospital Dr Srinivas is nowhere to be found and his mobile phone is switched off. A search for Srinivas is underway.

 Three have been arrested from the SPG Hospital. This includes a nurse and medical support staff member. An interrogation is underway in this regard. The officials want to ascertain for how long the illegal activity was underway. Various hospitals in Hoskote, Devanahalli and Nelamangala were raided in relation to the female foeticide racket. It was also uncovered that the hospital was operating outside the boundaries of the law for the last two to three years by employing doctors not having an MBBS degree to their credit.
