Land allocation for PRR construction still due: Somashekar

Officials have not brought drinking water unit problems to our notice: Somashekar

Deputy Chief Minister (DCM) of Karnataka DK Shivakumar addressed a gathering consisting of citizens from Yeshwanthpur and R.R Nagar as part of the Janaspandana program. The meeting was held in the B.P.Ed ground associated with the Jananabharati campus. Officials from the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM), Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) and other departments were present on this occasion. Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) from Yeshwantpur and Muniratna S.T Somashekar and Muniratna from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) were present on this occasion.

ST Somashekar praised D.K Shivakumar before mentioning that the problem of drinking water in his locality was solved by Indian National Congress (INC) Member of Parliament (MP) from Bengaluru Rural DK Suresh. “110 villages were facing an issue with regard to getting drinking water. Work has now reached the phase where they are having access to it. He has performed his duty as an MP,” he said.

He did however highlight problems with allocation of land to farmers as compensation for the construction of the Peripheral Ring Road (PRR). He mentioned that officials have not brought to their notice that most drinking water units are not functional. He warned the officials and reminded them that their actions can bring a bad reputation to the government.
